Coronavirus / COVID-19

Understandably, we are receiving an unprecedented number of telephone calls and emails. Since 11 March we have provided a regularly updated news article on this website. Given the huge implications for our members, their family and friends, we have created these pages as a ‘one stop’ point for information about Coronavirus. We will update this page, and the links below, regularly so please keep checking back.
Latest news

STAY AT HOME Latest government advice issued on 23 March is that people should stay at home unless:

  • going outside for food, health reasons, daily exercise (only with people from your household) or for essential work
  • stay 2 metres away from other people
  • wash your hands as soon as you return home

CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BE AT SCHOOL. All schools closed on Friday 20 March indefinitely. There will be exceptions for the children of key workers and other vulnerable children, but these are exceptions not the rule.

Anyone who can work from home should do so.

Our branch office is closed to visitors. We are observing social distancing advice and most staff and officers are working from home. We are still taking telephone calls and responding to emails but we would prefer you to contact us using our online contact form if you can. Please also check these pages first to see if we have already answered your question(s).
