Rarely is the word ‘unprecedented’ used correctly, but these last few days have certainly been unprecedented. We know that you are worried about the impact of Coronavirus on you, your family and your work. We have taken a huge number of telephone calls and emails from members since last week.
As your branch, we are your first point of contact if you have a problem at work. And will continue to be here for you throughout the Coronavirus emergency. We have taken steps to increase the support we have available, but also to protect our staff and branch officers.
If you have a query about Coronavirus please visit the dedicated pages on our website first. There is a good chance that we will have an answer to your question there.
The branch office remains open as normal Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. However, we are not accepting personal callers to help reduce social contacts. We ensuing that office staff are working sufficiently apart from each other. Please do not visit the branch office until further notice.
If you need to contact us please use the online contact form if you can. We will respond, but it will not be an immediate response. In emergencies, or if you cant use the online form, please call 01609 532317 or 01609 532718.
In normal times we have a duty officer rota, with a duty officer available to deal with member queries on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday. From Monday 23 March until at least 30 June we will have a duty officer available every weekday.
We are updating our website every day with the latest updates and we are sending regular emails to keep our members up to date.
Finally, we realise this is a very difficult time for everyone. This emergency will impact on us all in different ways. There has never been a more important time to be in a trade union. Please encourage your friends and colleagues to join UNISON.
