The joint trade unions, representing local government Chief Officers have submitted their pay claim for 2020/21. The claim reflects the submission made on behalf of other local government workers.
In summary, UNISON and the other trade unions have requested:
- A substantial increase on allowances and salaries, to reflect the 10% claim made by the staff side NJC (National Joint Council) trade unions.
- A joint survey across all local government employers to look at the issue of gender pay inequality amongst Chief Officers.
- A commitment to introduce a package to improve the work-life balance of local government Chief Officers, noting the staff side NJC request for an additional days’ annual leave.
The claim has been presented following a consultation with all our Chief Officer members.
