UNISON North Yorkshire Branch is delighted to be returning to Scarborough Pride this year as a sponsor of the Sun Court.
After having such a fantastic time at last year’s event, we’re looking forward to joining the celebrations once again and showing our support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Scarborough Pride takes place on Saturday 12 September at Scarborough Spa, and we’ll be there throughout the day with our UNISON stall, branch officers, information about the support we offer, and maybe some freebies. We’d love members to come along and say hello.
Pride is a chance to celebrate diversity, inclusion and community, but it’s also an important reminder of why equality matters. While significant progress has been made, LGBTQ+ people continue to face discrimination and inequalities both in society and in the workplace.
As one of the UK’s leading trade unions, UNISON is committed to challenging discrimination and creating workplaces where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Supporting Pride is one of the many ways we demonstrate that commitment and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ members.
Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, an ally, or simply someone who believes in equality and inclusion, Scarborough Pride offers a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate diversity and show support for one another.
We hope to see lots of our members there for what promises to be another fantastic day.
