Use your vote! Local government service group elections

UNISON members who work in local government and related employers are being asked to elect representatives to the Local Government Service Group Executive, which oversees the work of the Local Government Service Group within UNISON.

Our branch has nominated Ken Curran from Sheffield Local Government branch and Helen Gray from our branch (North Yorkshire Local Government) to be our representatives on the Local Government Service Group Executive.

Ken Curran is standing for the General seat,

Helen Gray is standing for the Female seat.

The branch is supporting Ken and Helen as they both have a track record of standing up for the interests of our members whether they work for our local councils, in our local schools, or in the private sector. As long serving local government workers and UNISON activists, we believe that Ken and Helen understand the issues that matter to our members; better pay, better working conditions, and to have security in their employment.

They have the experience and skills needed to make sure our members’ voices are heard within our union.

These are important elections within UNISON and we urge all local government members in our branch to make sure their voice is heard and use their vote.

Ballot papers will be sent out by email from CES (or by post if UNISON does not have an email address for you), and must be returned no later than 5pm on Wednesday 25 May 2022.

If you have not received a ballot paper by Wednesday 5 May 2022, please call the voting helpline on 0800 0857 857.
