UNISON member, Danny Abdy, recently completed a 5km charity swimathon in aid of Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie. He completed the challenge in a personal best time of 1 hour and 56 minutes, so far raising £1,245 for the good causes.
Danny was a member of our branch until he transferred to our health branch earlier this year, and our branch was pleased to sponsor him £50.
Thousands of swimmers like Danny headed down to their local pool between Friday 10th September and Sunday 12th September to complete their challenge, and raise money for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
