Our popular ‘Recruit a Friend’ promotion is returning, with an increased prize fund for 2021.

The Covid pandemic has highlighted just how important trade unions are. Studies have consistently shown that workplaces that have active trade unions are safer, and this has been reinforced during the last year.

We had a record year in 2020 for new members, which strengthens our voice in all our workplaces. However, we know that members will have colleagues who are not yet UNISON members.

In recognition of how important our members are in spreading the word about UNISON in their workplaces and getting their colleagues to join, but also because we have been unable to get out and about to recruit n workplaces this last year, we have increased the prize fund for 2021.

• Members will receive a £20 shopping voucher for every new member they recruit (previously £10)
• For each new member recruited, the recruiter will be entered into a prize draw with three prizes; £500, £250 and £125 (previously there was one prize of £500)
• The member who recruits the most new members by 20 December 2021 will receive a £100 shopping voucher.

The prize draw will take place on Monday 20 December, with the cash prizes being paid direct into the members’ bank account before Christmas.

To register for the £20 voucher and to enter the prize draw, the recruiting member just needs to contact the branch office to let us know who they have recruited, and where the new member works. We will check that they join and then send out the voucher.
