Our Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are always great events and are well attended by members across North Yorkshire. This year will be rather different. Sadly we can’t meet together as normal due to the Covid restrictions, but we are taking our AGMs online this year.
Our branch Secretary, Wendy Nichols explained:
“The AGMs are a really important part of our branch democracy, but they are more than that. They are a great opportunity for members old and new to meet together and catch up.
“Sadly, we can’t do that this year, but we think it is really important to still come together. We are keeping the five separate meetings as we know that members will have put the dates in their diaries some time ago.
“I hope as many members as possible can attend, and we are happy to help if anyone has any difficulties joining the meetings online.”
There will be five aggregate meetings, as usual:
- Craven – Monday 1 March
- Hambleton & Richmondshire – Thursday 4 March
- Scarborough & Ryedale – Monday 8 March
- Selby/York – Wednesday 10 March
- Harrogate – Tuesday 16 March
All meetings will start at 6.30pm and are expected to last for around an hour. Although we can’t offer our usual fantastic buffet, we will still be running our amazing free raffle. In fact, because we are not spending on the buffet, we are putting the money we have saved into the raffle so there will be more prizes! Every member who attends will be entered into the raffle.
To make it is as easy as possible to register and join the meetings, we have set up each AGM on ‘Eventbrite’. To register, just click on the link below for the meeting you want to attend. You will find a dedicated page with information about each meeting, including a link to register. Registration is free.
Once registered, you will be able to access the link to join the meeting online which will take place using Microsoft Teams. If you join using a smart phone, or a tablet, you will need to install the free Microsoft Teams app. If you join on a laptop or computer you can choose to join through your normal internet browser.
