Our branch has nominated Christina McAnea to be the next general Secretary of UNISON.

The branch felt that Christina is the best candidate to deliver on our member’s priorities, because of her:

• Record of campaigning, particularly on issues affecting women, equalities and low-pay;

• Vast experience negotiating on pay and conditions for members at a national level;

• Proud record of defending our members across all service groups, including local government;

• Credibility across the Labour and TU movement;

Her election would also mean that our union, representing over a million women, will be led by a woman with the necessary experience.
